- But we are *very* close to being ready to switch over to the
- native object format. This is an often requested feature
- and we are committed to making it happen. The nice thing about
- a BFD based toolchain is that you can have a prefered default
- format (like native AmigaOS hunk format) while still reading
- or writing other formats (a.out, ELF, etc) on demand.

- Personally I'd like to see AmigaOS on the PowerPC support ELF format
- executables as well as the older hunk format. I see no particular
- reason to not transistion to a more industry standard format as part
- of the PowerPC upgrade, other than probable lack of resources.
